Dat tsundere Axl, dat genki Steven, dat shy and gender ambiguous Izzy, dat Duff, dat Slash. Internet, what have you done? Someone shoot me now.
If K-ON had been about these five guys instead, my jimmies would have been rustled to hell and back. Izzy and Axl start a music club and are later joined by Steven, Duff, and Slash. They play school festivals instead of the sunset strip and eat cake instead of getting high. Izzy and Axl did attend the same high school so it could work.
I am joking of course. The thought of it scares me.
Guns N’ Roses were inducted into the Rock and Roll Hall of Fame not too long ago. If you, like me, were born in the 90s, then you’ve never seen the real Guns N’ Roses. At best, you’ve seen the Use Your Illusion touring lineup with Matt, Dizzy, and Gilby. Or perhaps the post-Slash lineup with the likes of Buckethead and Robin Finck. At worst, you’ve seen the current incarnation of Rose & Co. (the latter of which I sometimes jokingly refer to as Vegas 8).
Everyone thought that with the induction into the Hall of Fame, we’d finally get to see the five original members on stage together for the first time in 20 years. Sadly, this was not the case as Izzy and Axl didn’t show. The best we younger fans get to see is 3/5. Still, I don’t think for second that we’ve seen the last of these guys. Here’s to what could have been the biggest band in the world.
